Isaac Sellam Experience

Isaac Sellam is one of the most distinctive voices in the contemporary French avant-garde. The Parisian designer founded Isaac Sellam Experience in 2002, after many years devoted to exploring leather, its properties and new techniques for working with it. To this day, Sellam regards his atelier less as a conventional fashion house than as a laboratory for materials and construction.

At the heart of his work is leather of exceptional quality, with unusual textures and treatments. Anatomical cuts, exposed construction, distinctive metal staples, functional fastenings and deliberately visible seams define his approach. Rather than using leather decoratively, Sellam develops each silhouette from the properties of the material itself. Even technically demanding leathers can become surprisingly light, supple and almost fabric-like in his hands.
The pieces are made by hand in Sellam’s own Paris atelier, where development, pattern cutting and craftsmanship come together. This close involvement in the making gives each piece its distinctive character: subtle variations in the leather, surface and finish make it individual, evolving further with wear.

The result is a distinctive combination of craftsmanship, material research and an industrial aesthetic, at once raw and precise, and unmistakably Isaac Sellam.
